WCB Shop Run to Heartbreak Ridge
April 16, 2008
About once a month we close the shop on a Wednesday afternoon and take everybody wheeling. This time we also used the opportunity to put some trail time on a customer's Bronco. Dawn Rowe's 72 had been popping out of 4-low so we made some adjustments then, with her blessing, took it to the trail to make sure the problem was history (we're happy to report that it is!). Anyhow, we decided to use the opportunity to go up nearby Heartbreak Ridge, where a few years back we and our So Cal Broncos brothers installed a monument to commemorate USMC Major Alan Rowe (Dawn's late husband), who lost his life fighting for our country in Iraq in 2004. We thought it fitting to use the opportunity to get his old Bronco up there one more time, where he never did quite get a chance to take it himself.
As you can see inthe photos, the monument is seasoning nicely, continuing to "rust in peace" as we had intended. Shown in the photos gathered around it are the WCB crew, from left to right Ben, John, Dusty, Tyler and Ryan. Behind us is Ben's brother Jay, an Army veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan.
